Real Reason Behind The American Revolution

by Daniel Carter
With the current political environment deteriorating at an alarming rate, it is important to gain a historical perspective to determine where we are headed as a nation. Each century, the social fabric of nations unravels, unrest ensues, old institutions are destroyed and new institutions are built. This is a process as old as civilization. The American Revolution signifies possibly the most significant turning point in American history, but the true reason for the war is usually misunderstood.
We are often taught that the primary reason behind the American Revolution was for a British tax imposed on the colonists. The colonists felt that this was wrong because no one in Britain represented the colonists in government matters. “No Taxation Without Representation” was a popular slogan leading up to the war. Although this was indeed an important reason behind the colonist’s decision to go to war, it was not the main reason.
Many historians will tell you that it is important to learn history so we do not repeat mistakes of the past. Because of America’s lousy education system, society today has made the same mistake that led to the American Revolution. Modern American society has once again allowed the banking cartel to take over the economic and political systems. Here is a quote from Henry Ford reminding us how dire it is to let banks control your nation:

Ford said this at a time when central banking was a small fraction of what it is today. Uncoincidentally, this is the exact reason the founders of the US decided to go to war with Britain. Unlike the masses today, the founders were highly intelligent, and they deeply understood the banking and monetary system.

When Benjamin Franklin was asked why the working class was so prosperous compared to Britain, he said this:
“That is simple. In the Colonies, we issue our own paper money. It is called ‘Colonial Scrip.’ We issue it in proper proportion to make the goods and pass easily from the producers to the consumers. In this manner, creating ourselves our own paper money, we control its purchasing power and we have no interest to pay to no one.”
Soon after, the British bankers demanded that the King and Parliament pass a law that prohibited the colonies from using their own currency. The founders immediately knew that they would be doomed to the highly manipulated, debt based system that ravaged the working class in England. So, they decided to fight for their prosperity.
We were not taught these important facts in school, which is why we have repeated the same costly mistake. The banking cartel is larger than ever, and it has spread its influence throughout the world. It creates money out of thin air to give to insiders, fight wars, and perpetuate a bloated welfare system; all while making the working-class poor through inflation.  The more money they frivolously create, the less buying power you have. This is why the middle-class is disappearing in the US.
The founders recognized these problems as being so serious that they decided to fight a war. However, modern society seems different. There is no one in government smart enough or willing enough to wrestle power away from the banking cartel. If we are to create a more prosperous society, we must learn what the founders knew and get the banking cartel off our backs.

  1. “If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks…will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered…. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.” – Thomas Jefferson in the debate over the Re-charter of the Bank Bill (1809)
“If congress has the right under the Constitution to issue paper money, it was given them to use themselves, not to be delegated to individuals or corporations.” -Andrew Jackson
“I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated Governments in the civilized world no longer a Government by free opinion, no longer a Government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a Government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men.” -Woodrow Wilson
