Chicago’s leaders are turning up the heat on anti-vax police officers by accusing them of trying to ‘induce an insurrection’ and threatening to take away their retirement benefits.
Police Superintendent David Brown is warning that officers who don’t comply with the city’s COVID-19 vaccination policy could be fired and lose retirement benefits.
Meanwhile, Mayor Chicago Lightfoot lashed out Monday against the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) union and its president John Catanzara.
‘What we’ve seen from the FOP and particularly the leadership is a lot of misinformation, a lot of half truth – and frankly flat-out lies – in order to induce an insurrection,’ Lightfoot told reporters.
‘If you ignore a directive of your supervisor – or even worse, a direct order that’s lawfully given – you’re going to destroy your career. That is going to follow you forever.’
