China’s Social Credit Score

China is supposedly instituting a social credit score system. The more good deeds you do—online and offline—the more points you accrue. The more misdeeds you do, the more points you lose.

Talk badly about the government online? You lose points. Speak highly of the government? You gain points.

The more points you have, the more advantages you have in society (and vice versa).

It has been rumored that a version of this may be coming to the US(?)—though not necessarily via the government. I think it was Mark Cuban who in a YouTube video said that people are already being tracked for what they do and say online and that there may be a sort of reward for better behavior.
