The evidence continues to pile up. Investors have been selling US equities. This is going at a record pace. They’re selling US debt. Economic indicators are pointing to a slowdown on most fronts. Yet the stock market is rising. Something is seriously wrong.
Another month passes and here we are, watching what foreign governments are doing with the precious U.S. debt and U.S. stocks. There’s no surprise that governments around the world have a serious appetite for U.S. debt particularly when so much of the world is finding itself to be more risky and often giving very little in return. The question has always been, who will buy the U.S. debt, if foreign investors sell?
