After publishing less than 10% of the Snowden archives, the Intercept has decided to cease all future publications, unless Glenn Greenwald’s rather absurd promise of finding “the right partner … that has the funds to robustly publish” is fulfilled.
The department that was shut down accounted for a measly 1.5 percent of their budget, while writers for the intercept make $200-$500K per year. It also touches on the real reason for the shutdown, which is almost certainly related to the billionaire owner Omidyar and their connections with USAID and ‘national security’ apparatuses.
Here’s the source article which is surprisingly detailed: www.mintpressnews.com/intercept-snowden-archive/256772/
