Just a minor point for discussion…
May 12, 2016 – Lutsenko, a Ukrainian parliament member, is appointed to be the Prosecutor General, after the Ukrainian parliament changes the law allowing a non-lawyer to hold the position.
May 13, 2016 – Biden informs Ukraine the $1 billion in aid will be released to the Ukraine.
August 14, 2016 – Manafort “black ledger” payments apparently delivered to DNC.
August 22, 2016 – Yovanovitch arrives in Ukraine as Ambassador – was briefed on Biden/Ukraine before her confirmation hearing
June 2017 – Giuliani meets with Ukraine President and General Prosecutor. This meeting is cited by Democrats as evidence that Giuliani was pressuring the Ukraine to investigate the 2016 elections and/or the Burisma/Biden corruption.
July 2017 – Grassley letter to Rosenstein urges investigation into Bidens/Ukraine.
Fast forward to 2019:
April 24, 2019 – Trump recalls Yovanovitch
April 25, 2019 – Biden announces candidacy
So the question is this – if Giuliani and others were already trying to get the Ukraine to investigate Biden before he announced he was running, then how can this be for “political purposes”? It’s just a continuation of Trump’s already existing efforts to get to the bottom of Democrat corruption.
It looks more like Biden ran to shield himself from investigation.
