On Tuesday’s edition of All In, MSNBC host Chris Hayes slammed congressional Republicans for dismissing the Green New Deal while simultaneously giving a public service announcement in support of the measure. Hayes’s climate change activism should not come as that much of a surprise, since he once referred to global warming as “the single most important thing we face” long before Green New Deal architect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez burst onto the national political stage.
Hayes opened his monologue by declaring that “amidst massive flooding in the Midwest and one of the worst weather-related disasters in the entire history of the continent of Africa, Mozambique, ideas and ambitious as controversial as the Green New Deal would seem to warrant some serious consideration.” Hayes proceeded to trash Republican Senator Mike Lee, whom he described as “determined to make juvenile, wickedly unfunny jokes instead.”
Remember, as the Ayatollah Khomeini famously warned, “There are no jokes in Islam. There is no humor in Islam. There is no fun in Islam. There can be no fun and joy in whatever is serious.”
Whoops, sorry, wrong totalitarian religion there, but it’s an easy mistake to make these days — “When politics becomes a religion, nonbelievers must be punished,” David Gelernter writes.
But how is Chris coming along with getting such carbon-intense activities as the NFL and NASCAR removed from the NBC roster?
