On 9th June, millions of Hong Kong citizens protested against the extradition laws to be enacted by the SAR government, an act considered to further diminish Hong Kong’s autonomy by allowing criminals outside mainland to be extradited. Around midnight, protestors stayed near the Legislation Coucil. Hong Kong Police evicted unarmed protestors and reporters with “reasonable force”. Not a single mainstream media outlet reported on this incident. Photographers and reporters were asked to leave and being searched while on duty.
