Shocking Poll Finds Most Americans Think Political Violence Imminent, 31% Say US on Brink of Civil War

A rather worrisome Rasmussen poll published this week showing that most voters in America fear political violence is looming on the horizon. Nearly one third of Americans, however, fear far worse — civil war.

From June 21 to June 24, Rasmussen conducted a survey of 1,000 likely voters, asking them questions on how they feel about political violence and where they think America is headed.

According to the poll, 59% of all voters are concerned that those opposed to President Trump’s policies will resort to violence, with 33% who are Very Concerned. Thirty-one percent (31%) of Likely U.S. Voters, however, say it’s likely that the United States will experience a second civil war sometime in the next five years, with 11% who say it’s Very Likely.

The poll shows that concern for a civil war is nearly 50/50 among Democrats and Republicans, with Democrats showing slightly more fear with a 5% margin.

Americans are being polarized — deliberately — and we are now seeing the effects.

While there has certainly been a racism problem in this country for some time, the divide has begun to come to a head in the last decade.

There is absolutely no denying that minorities are persecuted in this country at a far higher rate than their white counterparts. All the data and all the statistics do not lie — minorities are on the receiving end of police brutality and government oppression more often than white people. However, attacking the white skin color does absolutely nothing to solve this problem, and in fact, it is it is acting as a recruiting tool for hate.

Neo-Nazis and white supremacists were fading away. Their ranks were diminishing and their tactics and mission of supremacy based on skin color had become laughable. However, in the past few years, a new faction, ironically spearheaded by the left, began to act as a recruiting tool for white nationalism.

Anti-white rhetoric has fueled hatred and served as a catalyst in the growing movement of white nationalist socialists. By concentrating on skin color — instead of a person’s character or the government policies that perpetuate racial disparity — a massive “anti-white” movement was born, and thus the dying white supremacy movement was given new life.

Hate groups in the US grew from 784 in 2014 to 892 in 2015, a 14 percent increase, according to 2016 data by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).

From 2014 to 2015, the number of active Klu Klux Klan chapters in the United States grew from 72 to 190, a massive increase for a group so closely associated with hatred, as the Federalist notes.

At the center of this divide is Donald Trump who is being propped up by both sides as a reason for conflict. As divisive as Trump is, he is just a focal point of the larger problem of the state. Trump’s policies are merely a symptom of government in general. As TFTP has reported, the horrific treatment of migrant children is merely a continuation of presidents before him.

The system does not want you to view them as the source of this divide, so the left/right paradigm is employed to keep people thinking that they just need to get their party into power to solve all the problems. Nothing could be further from the truth.

No matter the puppet in office, the police state grows, wars are expanded, and our rights usurped. All the while, Americans argue over superficialities while they are robbed blind by the state. It is literally divide and conquer and many people are oblivious to it.

To prove this point, we need only look at the same Rasmussen poll taken during Obama’s second year in office. It was almost quite literally the exact same results, but in reverse.

In March of 2010, 53% of US voters polled had the exact reaction to Obama’s policies as they did to Trump’s in 2018, while nearly one third feared civil war—just like they do now.

Until we treat people as individuals and not representatives of their race or their perceived political party, things will continue to decline. Until we stop putting faith in a system that needs us divided to maintain their control, things will get worse. Until we realize that there is no Us vs. Them, it is only Freedom vs. Tyranny, the decline will continue. Until we become the change we want to see in this world, expect no change at all.
