The White House told me today that they will look to do random sampling in the next 15 days. This is really important because it will tell us what percentage of the population is infected and what is the true mortality rate of COVID-19.

Right now, based on 143,578 cases and 2,562 deaths, the death rate (in the U.S.) stands at 1.78%.
The true death rate won’t actually be known until the pandemic is over, however.
