VIRGINIA: Taking parents to court for school lunch money owed!

CARROLL Co., Va. (WSET) — One school district in Virginia is asking parents to pay their child’s school lunch debt or they could be taken to court.

On Friday, Feb. 21, Carroll County Public Schools posted a notice to their Facebook page informing parents that they have until March 3 to pay off their student’s lunch debt or the school district would file a lawsuit against them for their delinquent account.

I wouldn’t disagree with this so much if they didn’t let CHILDREN chalk up a $900 debt in some cases without parent authorization.

Children under 18 can not enter into binding legal contracts and that is what they are doing everytime they swipe their badge for a Twinkie.

What if your child had their own junk food credit card? What do you think that balance would be?
