The Chinese are doing this sort of thing world wide. They identify key political figures and offer sweetheart deals for preferential treatment. And it’s been working, even here in the US, for decades. What else could explain the enthusiastic export of our entire manufacturing and IP base to a hostile communist regime? Anyone involved in politics saying something to the effect of “the chinese aren’t so bad” are likely on their payroll.
