COMEY SLAMS FAKE NEWS NEW YORK TIMES AND CNN IN THURSDAY'S TESTIMONY

by Robert Carbery

In case you didn’t already know, you cannot rely on the fake news media for your facts and information on anything regarding politics these days. The mainstream media has become the fake news media because it is now the propaganda arm for the Democratic Party, obsessed with taking down the current administration by whatever means possible. Facts be damned!

With former FBI Director James Comey’s much anticipated testimony in front of Congress now behind us, we are all sifting through what he said and what it all meant. One of the big takeaways for me was Comey slamming The New York Times and CNN in particular for their irresponsible reporting since Mr. Trump became president.

Mr. Comey confirmed that a February 14  story by The New York Times was “almost entirely wrong.” The headline was “Trump Campaign Aides Had Repeated Contacts With Russian Intelligence.” The constant posting of stories with one or two anonymous intelligence sources is more than irresponsible reporting, it is blatantly misrepresenting the facts or spinning reality to suit one’s agenda. Our media needs to be held to a higher standard lest we become North Korea listening to the approved government narrative. Solid reporting involves writing about actual events with real significance corroborated by multiple reputable sources who are willing to identify themselves.

Comey claimed to not be picking on reporters in particular while picking apart the falsity of the NYT, CNN, WaPo, etc.’s reporting. He stated that anyone talking about confidential information to the press does not really know what is going on and those that do are not talking about it to the media.

After the May 9th letter to Comey firing him became public, many were perplexed by an awkward sentence thrown in there about how Trump thanked Comey for telling him on multiple occasions that he was not under investigation. Well, turns out Trump was telling the truth on this one.

The mainstream media jumped on a “story” that was reported feverishly shortly after the letter was out there. CNN and ABC News stated, “Former FBI Director James Comey is reportedly set to testify he never told President Donald Trump that he was not under investigation in connection with Russian interference in the 2016 election.” Except that he was not set to do that and on Thursday ended up doing exactly the opposite.

Here are three instances of Comey telling Trump he was not under investigation from today’s very testimony
1.January 6th Meeting at Trump Tower
a. “In that context, prior to the January 6 meeting, I discussed with the FBI’s leadership team whether I should be prepared to assure President-Elect Trump that we were not investigating him personally. That was true; we did not have an open counter-intelligence case on him. We agreed I should do so if circumstances warranted. During our one-on-one meeting at Trump Tower, based on President Elect Trump’s reaction to the briefing and without him directly asking the question, I offered that assurance.”

2.January 27th Dinner at White House
a. “During the dinner, the President returned to the salacious material I had briefed him about on January 6, and, as he had done previously, expressed his disgust for the allegations and strongly denied them. He said he was considering ordering me to investigate the alleged incident to prove it didn’t happen. I replied that he should give that careful thought because it might create a narrative that we were investigating him personally, which we weren’t, and because it was very difficult to prove a negative. He said he would think about it and asked me to think about it.”
3.March 30 Phone Call
a. “I explained that we had briefed the leadership of Congress on exactly which individuals we were investigating and that we had told those Congressional leaders that we were not personally investigating President Trump. I reminded him I had previously told him that.”

While the verdict from Comey’s huge testimony truly depends on where you tune in, what is clear as day now is that the Russian collusion theory has been debunked and that narrative should finally die out. Key word there is “should.”

Trump’s 2017 impeachment odds dropped by 4 points, from 21% to 17%, following Comey’s testimony, so maybe we’ll stop hearing about that for a while?

Wouldn’t bet on that one either.

  1. This smells like a replay of the fake Dan Rather scandal to get little bush the deserter into the white house. They pull something together they know is false and then you forget the original allegation, then they tell you it was false anyway. Then you’re a confused goy.
