One Year Anniversary of Trump Presidency Results in Government Shutdown as Democrats Prioritize Illegals Before Rule of Law and Security and Our Country Becomes Great Again

by Robert Carbery

“This is the One Year Anniversary of my Presidency and the Democrats wanted to give me a nice present. #DemocratShutdown,” President Trump tweeted at 6:33 AM Saturday morning. The women marched in major metros across the nation on Saturday as well as we mark the first full year in the books for the Trump administration.

Will Republicans finally win the game of perception in this most recent shutdown of the federal government? The GOP have an easy case to make. But it is more difficult to express than the Dems’ line about how they want to protect the “Dreamer” children from deportation. But our military men and women are not being paid and what happens from here should prove significant. This is a pivotal moment as we barrel into 2018, a midterm election year.

“Democrats are far more concerned with Illegal Immigrants than they are with our great Military or Safety at our dangerous Southern Border. They could have easily made a deal but decided to play Shutdown politics instead. #WeNeedMoreRepublicansIn18 in order to power through mess!” Trump also tweeted out early Saturday morning.

The shutdown prompted President Trump to pen an op-ed in The Washington Examiner released Saturday morning. In it, he made his case as to why the first 365 days of his presidency have been a success for all Americans.

“We are putting America first, making real change in Washington, and creating opportunities for all of our people,” Trump wrote. “From coast to coast, there is a renewed spirit. Our country is roaring back more quickly than anyone could have predicted. The American Dream is real again.” In many places across this great country, the American Dream is becoming attainable again. People will have more money in their pockets with the recent tax cut reform bill passed at the end of last year and business and consumer optimism continues to ride high.

The economy grew at a 3% clip in the fourth quarter of 2017 as it did for most of the year. Jobs continue to be added. Companies are coming back to the U.S. from other countries, expanding operations here. And the stock market keeps setting record highs, something that would be made a much bigger deal of if a Democrat President were in office.

The tax bill lowered the rates for both individuals and businesses and also rid us once and for all of the horrific Obamacare individual mandate, “an unpopular, cruel, and burdensome tax that hit low- and middle-income Americans the hardest,” Trump described in his piece.

Trump also claims to have “created a more business-friendly environment.” He has certainly done this by removing regulations far more than he has been adding new ones. The Trump administration has eliminated 22 regulatory actions for each new regulation enacted.

Change is coming not only to DC and the rest of the U.S. but also to the rest of the world.

We have liberated Mosul and Raqqa from ISIS since Trump took office and the beheading terrorists have been almost completely decimated. The Syrian civil war has been ended with the assistance of Russia. And we have removed ourselves from the overbearing and globalist Paris Climate accord.

But perhaps the most significant and certainly the most lasting achievement of Trump’s first year in office was the appointment of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. He has also made his mark in appointing many federal judges already and bringing immigration back the the forefront of legal and political conversation.

Trump concludes, “After one year, I am proud to report to the American people that we truly are making America great again – for all Americans!” The left will of course state how low his approval ratings are and how that reveals Trump is not helping all Americans somehow. Trump and Republicans use logic and facts and reason and all the left uses are pure emotion and sentiment.

Companies are accelerating job growth plans under the Trump economy. On the 17th, Apple announced plans to grow its U.S. workforce by 20,000 over the next five years. This is in addition to spending or generating more than $350 billion in the U.S. economy between today and 2023.

In a Wall Street Journal article last year, President Trump said he’d had talks with Apple CEO Tim Cook about building new plants in the U.S.

“I spoke to [Mr. Cook], he’s promised me three big plants — big, big, big,” Trump told the Journal in July 2017. “I said you know, Tim, unless you start building your plants in this country, I won’t consider my administration an economic success. He called me, and he said they are going forward.” Is that not making America great again? Employment growth from Apple is very significant and the added investment from overseas will be crucial for the future growth of our dynamic economy. Apple will announce the location of its new campus later this year while Amazon last week unveiled the top 20 cities still in the running for its second campus including 50,000 new jobs and $500 billion in revenue and investments.

Shortly after the announcement by Trump about Apple, Foxconn, Apple’s main manufacturing partner, said it would open a $10 billion plant in Wisconsin that will eventually have more than 13,000 jobs as manufacturing comes back to the Midwest.

Trump’s first year in office has been far more successful than anyone could have ever predicted. He will of course not get any of the credit. But early signs are encouraging. We shall see how the shutdown shitshow works out but if Trump and Republicans hold hard and make their case while continuing to help grow the economy, then we could be seeing the start of the second full year of a very effective presidency, despite the constant information war underway with the mainstream media and deluded Democrats in DC.
