Outbreak of Legionnaires Disease at State Fair Kills 4, Sickens More Than 100

Four people have died after contracting Legionnaires’ disease at a state fair that took place between September 6 and 15 in Fletcher, North Carolina.

At least 133 confirmed cases of the disease can be traced back to the state fair. Ninety-four cases led to hospitalizations, while eight people who attended the fair also contracted Pontiac fever.
