WALMART COLLAPSE TO WIPE OUT 100 TOWNS ACROSS AMERICA

More than 100 Walmarts around the country shut their doors Thursday for good — many in small towns and rural areas with few other shopping options CBS NEWS REPORTS.
The retailer cites a long-term strategy shift and financial performance. Company shares are down 25 percent over the past 12 months, and the nationwide closures will also impact thousands of employees, reports CBS News correspondent David Begnaud.

  1. AND SO IT BEGINS !!! For lack of proper profits Walmart is choosing to throw more people out into the cold instead of keeping them working as a way of saying thanks to the working class in America. Those stake and Stock holders in Walmart don’t give a hank about people. They only care about profits and lining their own pockets at the expense of Middle America.
You people out there in La La Land need to understand the “Corporations are no Respecter of People”, they only respect profits, and that my friends is the main problem with corporate America. It will suck the labors out of humanity until there is nothing left but a dried out husk living in a third world dictatorship.
IE: If you cannot get the working class to give of their labors willingly, a state will enforce its need to have the slaves continue working at the point of a gun. If people don’t get a clue soon about this slow collapse of our economy, they will be out in the cold without a pot to piss in nor window to throw it out of.

    • Very well put. Corporations are no Respecter of People. In the operating environment, these companies make a big public show of giving people what appears to be a substantial raise, but there is no news story showing how the hours of people are then cut to the bare minimum, often cutting their paychecks in half, workers with seniority who are at or near the top of their salary bracket are often subtly (or not so subtly) harassed into quitting, or outright fired for some petty thing so they can hire cheap labor at the bottom entry-level salary. Full timers are made part-timers, and part-timers are kept with insufficient hours to qualify for any of the touted benefits these companies advertise. Retail management employs and cultivates some of the most egotistical, abusive personalities anywhere. One would think they were royalty the way they expect their employees to grovel and quake at their presence. On the sales floor, employees are often forced to stand for 8 hours, not allowed to have something to eat or drink, berated, threatened, and treated like subhumans, all for about $120.00 a week. Yet management manages to schedule them in such a manner that a 15 or 20 hour workweek is spread out in such a godawful schedule that it wrecks any chance of working another job, or taking care of many family needs. I have seen this done to people I know who are trying desperately to work for a living, while the turds who manage these places treat them like they are working for soda money.
On the big scale, just what you say is happening. Good post, thank you.
Oh, and hi, I’m Zeira. 😉

  2. There is no question that corporations will do just about anything to turn a profit and that in fact that is a very large part of the declining American economy. For the sake of stock price and earnings corporations have been moving manufacturing operations and just about any job they can to third world countries for labor savings and other “financial incentives”. Whether it’s cars, steel or retail goods corporations have no loyalty to their workers or the their country,
There are several facets to this issue. The government is positioning corporations to be immune from product liability by legislation like the TTP. The corporations are moving their executive management out of the country to avoid prosecution from regulatory agencies like the FDA and SEC. Stockholders of corporations are demanding ever higher earnings and care not where the executives find them. All of these factors are entering into the closure of not only Walmarts, but other large chain stores as well.
The pity is these very real issues are a symptom of the problem, not the disease itself. The disease is the consumer himself. Consumers in their thirst for greater choice at lower cost has been lured into the trap set by corporations years ago. If you go into a grocery store and look at the huge variety of foods you would think there are many manufacturers of the products. The fact is there a lot fewer than you think. There are probably a dozen chicken producers, a few more meat packagers, less than a half dozen soda manufacturers, four major bakers, you get the point. The major manufacturers actually create plain label goods to take the places next to their products in stores to create the illusion of variety and choice.
How has the consumer created this problem? When we go to the grocery store instead of a baker for bread, a butcher for meat, or a lemonade stand for refreshment, we create the dependence the big corporations want. The lazy consumer has put the little competitor out of business. If we are not willing to pay a little more or put up with a little less selection or go to more than one store when we shop we are suckered into their retail system which has made a science out of taking consumer cash.
No doubt there will be many who disagree that the consumer is culpable in the situation we are presented with today. I can however speak with some certainty about it as I was once the owner of a bookstore who more than once heard how much my goods were sold for at Walmart. The irony in the Walmart closings for the people who told me they had never been in my store until everything was 60% off must be immense.
No, we are the problem! With our loyalty cards and bonus points in hand we head for the local chain store to prop up the large corporations until they decide our market no longer deserves their effort. We the American consumer who won’t demand that our elected representatives represent us instead of the PAC that funds their re-election advertising. We the American consumer who drive the foreign imported cars because they were cheaper. We the American consumer who did nothing as the big corporations put our cobblers, our haberdashers, our dry goods stores, our green grocers, our local dairy out of business, are about to pay a very dear price.
    Good luck America.

  4. I banned shopping there years ago because they sell only Chinese crap and they don’t pay their employees enough to live on. I thank God they are closing! Now maybe we can get back to having real stores and better choices instead of everything “made in china” that wally world sold!!

    • We cut way back, hardly shop there anymore. Ditto Target for other reasons. Have to watch sales more so in other stores. Quit Sams club several months ago, after eighteen years. Poor service and long lines. Gave up on K Mart and Sears long ago, closed both stores here past year.

      • Yeah, I’m considered the ‘weirdo’ of the family cause I don’t shop at any of the ‘big name’ stores and I won’t go to the movies and haven’t owned a TV in over 10 years!! If everyone would stop supporting ‘hollyweird’ this country might have a small chance of waking up and saving the country, but alas, it’s probably too late already…..I hear ‘Lucifer’ is the ‘in’ show!??
I guess ‘Hell’ is the ‘cool place’ now?

  5. It really doesn’t matter. The consuming addicted people of this nation will just go elsewhere to shop for their shiny new trinkets. Most are completely clueless about why.
Just look at the current election cycle. More banker/corporate owned polished puppets saying anything to get elected, only to serve their campaign donators.
Ted Cruz, another Goldman Sachs baby, who’s wife is a high up VP for “You Guessed it” Goldman Sachs!
Yet, the majority of the pubic are clueless, and just cry and cheer for their own demise.
How about the public finally just say “Enough of the Elephant and Donkey Show” (Republicans and Democrats) and just not vote for anyone in either party or any incumbent?
Never going to happen, for we live in a nation of really dumb people.

  6. IF you traveled across america RIGHT now,you would see towns that were blocked off from exits on the highways all across the midwest,I know, I’ve camped on main street of a few of them in my motorhome,THE CITY DADS allowed these scum from WALMART to destroy the economy of the town and never did a thing to stop it,THEY WERE ALL BOUGHT AND PAID FOR WHORES………

    • That is why our market is flooded with “Chinese junk.” It’s not that the Chinese can only make junk, it’s that the people who farmed our jobs out to foreign concerns willingly accept junk because they can sell tons of it and make tons of money (because it was orchestrated that way by the people we supposedly elected to represent US, but who sold us out).

  7. Walmart has long been a purely evil (yes, Satanic) organization that cares only for it’s own profits and is oblivious to the harm it does to communities and individuals. Anyone dumb enough to shop in that place deserves what they get! Low prices? Is it worth destroying your community to save 4 dollars on a hundred spent on groceries? Or 50 on a set of tires? Face it, they’ve fucked you and you let them! Good luck rebuilding your towns and cities once the scum of Walmart has left the area. You survived without them once, and you can do so again. But it’s going to take time.

  8. I’ve never stepped foot in a Walmart. They tried to bring one to my town (South Coast, British Columbia) but our community vetoed it. The towns that CHOSE to stop supporting their local business people in favour of buying junk from China deserve what they get. Good luck with the rebuilding of your probably broke town! But hey…over the years I’m sure they all saved a bunch of currency purchasing garbage.

  10. Overextended itself keeping with the idea of the negro sodomite to increase wages. Now they have to back off to compensate.
You should never listen to the left or a negro on how to run a company.

  12. There is never a considerable amount of “profit,” with chain restaurants and big box stores, which sell you the goods at close to cost.
The business model is to farm quota cases for govt subsidies, using the bare amount of physical matter, needed to maintain appearances of productive labor.
Corporatists can and will do anything for a buck and, in my research, ppp’s will tend break down when there is an unfunded mandate. imho, they were actually asked to pay for something.
When these were still in operation, the only way to get hired was to be a special interest. One generational Satanist told me that he would test dirty, on purpose, and say he needed help, whenever he was up for review. This made him a quota case. Sometimes, all the floor managers look the same. (It’s like solving a children’s puzzle — how are they similar.) They will look like donors, who can be found in the corporate or investor’s relations portions of a website.
The cost is not covered by sales. So, sales is not the problem.

  13. So…here in Columbia, SC, there is a new WalMart Express Market. It opened last Thursday. Has gas out front. This area of town has 3 new Family Dollar, and 2 new Dollar General. The Dollar Tree always has a full parking lot. It appears that the volume of foot traffic, and heavy use of public transportation make this part of town, a few miles from downtown, ripe for the low end retailers. We have 3 Wal-Mart Super Centers about 5 to 10 minutes by car in various directions. College town; growing population; lots of growth. There is a new 300+ unit conventional apartment community about to open, too. I guess we’re ok, at least for now. Blessings!

  14. This is so funny. First Walmart was blamed for destroying the small towns by wiping out the mom and pops. Now, Walmart is to blame for closing, therby opening the door for new mom and pops. Ripe … very, very ripe. SHEESH
BTW Walmart is nowhere near collapse and that is because they are smart enough to realize where the most efficient use of their capital is. Sometimes it’s just not worth it to provide above minimum wages, healthcare and a decent retirement plan for those who would rather settle than work their tushes off to change their financial lot.

    • You’re right. Wal Mart is not going out of business. They are closing the express stores and others which have proven to be not profitable enough. They are pruning the tree to cut losses, and increase profits, and to heck with the cattle. It’s not worth it to the corporations to provide a decent employment venue for the people on whose backs they make their profit, and they do not care. Settle? Most of the people I know who are working for these chump wages are doing so because they cannot get anything else, and they are working their tushes off like you would not believe. No standing around allowed. Nothing to drink until your 10 minute break, if you get one. I know of employees who have soiled themselves because the management would not allow them to go to the restroom for necessary relief. It’s a real gravy job working retail.
And you’re also right in that it’s not [just] Wal Mart’s fault that places are starting to sink into abject collapse. The whole thing is in the process of systemic collapse. Like stated in a recent artlcle on SHTFPlan.com, collapse doesn’t have to be a sudden event for it to be real. We are in it.
      Thanks, and best wishes.

      • You make valid points. And yes, as far as the mistreatment of employees go and some few who endure out of fear, there are always exceptions to the rule I expressed. However, I only have just a little more sympathy for those who’s life is ruled by fear over those who just lack the necessary gumption to make the effort improve their lot in life. Fear is no way to live.
The American dream is not supposed to be a freebie. It never was and some progressive types should remember what built this country. The pioneer spirit of those that conquered this land is no less needed to make it in today’s world. The only thing that has changed is the nature of the wilderness.
I do agree, the destruction of this country is at hand, It is not Walmart that did it though. A bought and paid for politcal system, sanctioning a Bankster perpetrated theft by a debt based economy, and international corporations allowed to walk away with our jobs while the “elected” pad their pockets with campaign donations.

  15. We see our sales going up yearly as people know Walmart Food is toxic crap. The issue we have is keeping up with demand and finding a source of capital to do so.

Our meat sells quickly because it’s awesome and free of all the antibiotics and preservatives..it tastes like real food, most children have not had real food but factory food.
We also make salves and soaps….if Walmart tanked the country would prosper because the money you spend there goes to China, spend money with us and it stays here locally, it’s that simple.
