CNN hits HISTORIC LOWS after scandal-filled year

CNN has hit yet another low last week, seeing its worst total day viewers in nearly eight years as its conservative counterpart Fox News continues to top the charts.
According to data reported by Fox News, the left-wing cable news network averaged just 444,000 total day viewers from Feb. 7 – 13, which is CNN’s worst performance in the category since November of 2015.

Fox News topped the category, bringing in 1.5 average total day viewers, and was the only basic cable news network to surpass the 1 million mark. The top five was rounded out with USA, MSNBC, HGTV, and Hallmark.

How Secret Assault Allegation Upended CNN and Zucker…Ethical Lapses and Falling Ratings…

Late in the day on Nov. 30, Jeff Zucker, the president of CNN Worldwide, summoned his star anchor and friend, Chris Cuomo, to a meeting in the network’s skyscraper overlooking the Hudson River.

Mr. Zucker was joined by the network’s chief marketing officer — and his secret romantic partner — Allison Gollust. They had to deliver a delicate message.

Mr. Zucker told Mr. Cuomo that CNN was suspending him because of his unethical interactions with his brother, New York’s governor. Mr. Cuomo was shocked and offered to resign. Mr. Zucker countered that the anchor might be able to return at some point, according to people with knowledge of the conversation.

Gollust Goes Scorched Earth as She Quits Too…

Allison Gollust, CNN’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer, resigned from the network on Tuesday, less than two weeks after her boss-turned-lover Jeff Zucker also quit.

Jason Kilar, the CEO of CNN’s parent company WarnerMedia, announced Gollust’s departure in a Tuesday memo. He said a company investigation into “issues” related to the recent ouster of disgraced star anchor Chris Cuomo had found that Gollust, along with Cuomo and then-network president Zucker, had committed numerous “violations” of company policies. Kilar did not specify what offenses the trio had committed.

Shortly after the memo went out, Gollust chimed in with a statement of her own, blasting the company for announcing her departure prematurely.
