A Utah judge just ruled that the key July hearing for the man accused of killing Charlie Kirk will remain open to reporters and the public
The hearing is expected to be the biggest evidence dump in the case so far
Prosecutors say they plan to introduce forensic analysis, surveillance footage, witness statements, autopsy findings and alleged messages admitting to the crime
Defense attorneys tried to seal parts of the hearing and keep some evidence away from public view
The judge said the defense failed to show that public access would prevent a fair trial
The July 6–10 hearing is now expected to be the most detailed look at the prosecution’s case since the September 2025 killing
