British Columbia district declares state of emergency, issues evacuation orders as wildfire rages

Bald Range wildfire started Friday and raced toward Okanagan Lake communities.
All 12,000 residents of the District of Summerland ordered to leave late Friday night.
Another 8,000 people around Peachland also under evacuation orders.
Total of roughly 21,700 people displaced province-wide with 9,700 more on alert.
Premier David Eby and officials described the fire behavior as explosive and like a bomb.
Province declared a full state of emergency to gain extra powers for travel limits and housing.
