If politicians can hand corporations subsidies, write tax loopholes, steer billions into defense contracts, run huge deficits and keep expanding the money supply, then taxing billionaires more afterward doesn’t fix the system.
It just takes a bigger piece of the wealth created by that system.
Want to actually attack the problem?
Close the loopholes.
Stop the corporate subsidies that don’t produce enough public value.
Fix the spending.
Fix the deficit.
Make companies compete instead of letting politicians pick winners.
Otherwise we’re just arguing over how much money the government should take from the winners of a system it helped create.
You can tax billionaires more.
But if the machine keeps producing the same incentives, you’ll just get another group of billionaires to tax 10 years from now.
The question isn’t only how much should billionaires pay?
It’s why does the system keep producing enormous private fortunes while socializing so much of the cost?
Fix that part first.
