Fuel oil shortage now threatens ships and power plants

Reuters says the global fuel-oil deficit could reach 218,000 barrels per day, versus only 6,000 bpd a year earlier. Refiners are favoring diesel and gasoline because margins are higher, leaving less fuel for ships and power generation.
