Lavrov tells the U.N. that Europe is blocking talks. Sixteen people died in 24 hours of strikes

He blamed Europe from the same hall where Germany had just sat down with him for the first time since 2022.

On Saturday Lavrov addressed the General Assembly. He said Europe is doing everything it can to block peace talks that the Trump team wants.
He said Russia’s war aims will be met “no matter the circumstances.”
RTE counted at least 16 dead across both sides in 24 hours. Ukraine said six dead, including a 17-year-old girl in Dnipropetrovsk. Russia said four dead in Krasnodar and Belgorod. Occupied-south officials claimed six more.
Lavrov met Rubio earlier in the week. Rubio said Washington invited Putin to the G20 in Miami in December.
