Italy protests continue into Sunday in Milan; Meloni calls government meeting

Police clashed again on Sunday with protesters near Piazza Duomo in Milan who threw stones and looted shops during demonstrations over living costs and public services. More than 60 people were taken in for checks. Saturday’s unrest across northern Italian cities, including Milan, Bologna, and Turin, led to dozens of arrests, many minors, and injuries to officers. Meloni condemned the violence and scheduled a government meeting for Monday. The clashes echo the larger-scale looting and damage seen in France over the weekend.
