Cboe launched pre-market (7:30 a.m.–9:25 a.m. ET) and post-market (4:00 p.m.–4:15 p.m. ET) sessions Monday for options on 24 single stocks and five ETFs, including NVDA, TSLA, AAPL, MSFT, AMZN, META, GOOGL, SPY, QQQ, IWM, GLD, and XLF. These names accounted for roughly 53% of average daily U.S.-listed options volume through September. NYSE American Options did the same for a similar list of heavily traded names. Several brokers, including Interactive Brokers, Robinhood, Fidelity, and Moomoo, are supporting it. Volumes in the first extended session were muted. Cboe already runs near-24/5 trading on certain index options. NYSE has said it plans to move toward 23-hour, five-day equity trading in the same names starting December 6. The WallStreetBets post is reacting to the longer window for trading those contracts.
