Boeing reported a $116 million net loss for the third quarter, or 26 cents a share, down from a $5.34 billion loss a year earlier. Adjusted loss came in at 34 cents, wider than the roughly 21 cents Wall Street expected. Revenue rose 4 percent to $24.2 billion, helped by defense and services, but the commercial unit still posted a $697 million operating loss. Free cash flow was positive at $464 million. The bigger problem was the outlook. CEO Kelly Ortberg said the company will not reach 47 737s a month until early 2027, so it will miss the 500-jet delivery target for this year. Free cash flow is now expected at about $3 billion next year and $6 billion in 2028, well below the $5.6 billion and $9.6 billion analysts had penciled in. Shares fell roughly 10 to 11 percent, the worst session in more than a year, hitting an 18-month low near $168. Demand and the $745 billion backlog remain solid. Production and cash timing do not.
