A tech company just put AI-created synthetic viruses into a human for the first time ever.

Radical Numerics says its Omnii-1 model designed bacteriophages for a patient with an antibiotic-resistant bacterial infection. The company tested the phage cocktail against the patient’s bacteria in the lab before it was administered under compassionate use. The company has not released the patient’s outcome, so there is no public evidence yet that the treatment worked in the human body.
