A tanker carrying one million barrels from NABEP unloaded in Corpus Christi on Tuesday. The White House said the oil will be sold to Exxon and Citgo refineries and came at no cost to the US under the post-Maduro arrangement. Trump pointed to the ship during a rally for Senate candidate Ken Paxton and called it the start of billions of barrels to come. The deal gives Washington a stake and access after US forces removed Maduro in January. Critics have questioned the partner company’s background and the lack of competitive bidding for the fields.
