Silver back below $50

Silver has lost its shine, with spot prices slipping below $50 an ounce for the first time since November 2025, as concerns over industrial demand and the prospect of tighter U.S. monetary policy add to pressure on the precious metal.

Front-month Comex November silver (XAGUSD:CUR) slid 4.31% to $49.89 an ounce.

In its latest precious metals report on Thursday, Metals Focus said silver’s underperformance had pushed the gold-silver ratio above 76 for the first time since December, up from a range of 60-70 through much of the summer. While the ratio remains below its 2020-25 average of 82, analysts see room for it to rise further as silver continues to face significant headwinds.
