Elon Musk posted Thursday that users can now find out if any reach limitations have been applied to their accounts. The announcement follows a new Under the Hood feature that shows which posts received visibility limiting labels. It matches X’s longstanding policy of freedom of speech but not freedom of reach that began after Musk’s 2022 takeover when negative or rule violating posts were deboosted rather than removed. Users have long reported lower impressions on certain content and the platform previously imposed temporary read limits in 2023 to curb data scraping.
