Palantir generates a little over $2 billion in quarterly revenue. It adds roughly $200 million in revenue, and the market values the entire company at $442 billion. Apparently, that is all it takes to become one of the most expensive companies on the planet.
Think about the scale. That $200 million quarterly increase amounts to roughly $800 million in additional revenue over a full year if the pace holds. The market cap is more than 550 times that annualized increase. And that’s revenue, before paying employees, covering expenses, or producing a dollar of profit.
Of course, Palantir is growing fast and investors are betting that AI will turn it into something much larger. But at some point, the numbers stop looking like a stock valuation and start looking like a very expensive bet on the future.
At $442 billion, apparently the future has already been paid for.
