Missing memory card flips Georgia House race from Democrat to Republican; Secretary of State launches investigation

Democrat Harry James was leading Republican incumbent Gerald Greene by 58 votes in Georgia House District 154 after the November 3 election. During a routine post-election review, officials discovered a missing memory card from Seminole County containing approximately 388 uncounted ballots. Once the votes were uploaded, Greene moved ahead by 262 votes. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger opened an investigation into how the memory card was overlooked and whether election procedures were followed. The results remain unofficial, with the county facing a November 9 certification deadline. If Greene’s lead holds, Democrats’ newly won majority in the 180-seat Georgia House would shrink to just 1 seat.
