This week, financial advisor Mike Mitchell answers a listener question:
“I have a 403(b) retirement plan with $250,000 in it. Can this amount be rolled over to another self-directed retirement vehicle?”
– Ben B. (FTM Platinum Member)
According to Mike Mitchell, there are at least three ways to rollover your 403b to another retirement plan.
1) A Trustee to trustee rollover to a self-directed IRA
2) Transfer your 403b to another 403b or a 401k
3) Another option is called an “in-service rollover”. There is typically an age requirement attached to this option.
