I feel embarrassed for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the “Squad” members who collectively cannot form one original thought. These women do not have a leg to stand on, and they’re using the Roe v Wade ruling to act like modern-day martyrs following in the footsteps of Martin Luther King Jr. or Rosa Parks. At a recent abortion rally outside of the Supreme Court, the Squad turned into those criminal insurrectionists they so badly fear in the hopes of a photo opportunity.
AOC, Ilhan Omar, and others were strategically escorted away from the protest. These women actually pretended to be handcuffed, placing their arms behind their backs while grinning maniacally. Variations of the video have already received millions of views but did not receive the sympathy she expected. “Today, Rep. AOC was arrested along with other members of Congress outside the Supreme Court for protesting in support of abortion rights,” someone tweeted from AOC’s official account.
“Today I was arrested while participating in a civil disobedience action with my fellow Members of Congress outside the Supreme Court. I will continue to do everything in my power to raise the alarm about the assault on our reproductive rights!” Omar tweeted.
They were not placed in handcuffs. During the protest, the Squad was behind yellow tape where police safely protected them from the general public. Some reports state that they did not stay long, but were there long enough for the cameras. AOC was not arrested, nor did she receive any punishment for actively inciting civil unrest by dismissing a ruling from the nation’s highest court.
