Rep Karen Bass, a Democrat running for Los Angeles mayor, said her Baldwin Vista home was broken into Friday night by a thief who took two of her guns
She said the firearms had been ‘safely and securely stored’ in her home, which is estimated to be worth over $2 million
Bass has previously said she feels safe walking around her neighborhood as violent crime is up nearly 5 percent from last year
The theft comes amid a growing crime wave in the City of Angels, with robberies up more than 17 percent over last year, and burglaries up 15 percent
Police are now asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect
