‘COVID-19 parties’ reportedly held in Walla Walla County, Washington to spread virus

WALLA WALLA, Wash. — As the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Walla Walla County continues to rise, public health officials said they have been receiving reports of COVID-19 “parties” being held in the community.

At the “parties,” noninfected people mingle with an infected person to try and catch the virus, health officials said in a news release.

As of 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, the Walla Walla Department of Community Health reported one death among 94 confirmed cases.

“As COVID-19 cases in Walla Walla County continue to rise, health officials strongly recommend you remain vigilant with physical distancing to limit community transmission of the virus,” Walla Walla County Department of Community Health said.
