It’s official: Cannabidiol Inhibits SARS-CoV-2 Replication and Promotes the Host Innate Immune Response – NOT BY SMOKING THOUGH

“Cannabidiol inhibits SARS-CoV-2 replication and promotes the host innate immune response.”

“Our results suggest that CBD can block SARS-CoV-2 infection at early stages of infection, and CBD administration is associated with a lower risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection in humans.”

“High dose CBD usage in patients is significantly correlated with a reduction in COVID-19 positivity.”

“CBD inhibits viral replication after SARS-CoV-2 entry into the host cell.”

“Cannabidiol (CBD) is a potent inhibitor of SARS-CoV-2 infection in vitro.”

Basically, the coronavirus has a ‘key-like’ tool that it uses to get into the cell through a receptor called an ACE2 receptor. Turns out that CBD uses that very same ‘key hole’ as the coronavirus does. So, if the ‘key hole’ is already being used by a ‘CBD key’, then the coronavirus can’t get into the cell (as easily) to replicate itself.
