Heritage Foundation: 64% of Trump’s agenda already done, faster than Reagan
With unprecedented speed, the Trump administration has already implemented nearly two-thirds of the 334 agenda items called for by the Heritage Foundation, a pace faster than former President Reagan who embraced the conservative think tank’s legendary “Mandate for Leadership” blueprint.
“We’re blown away,” Binion said in an interview. Trump, he said, “is very active, very conservative, and very effective.”
What’s more, he said, Trump hasn’t just focused on one agenda area, but he and his team has pushed through administrative moves on foreign policy, deregulation, immigration, tax reform and health care, moves often ignored by the media.
“It is a huge volume that his administration has worked on and it is a huge spectrum of issues,” said Binion.
Listen, if you haven’t figured out how President Trump works yet, let me spell it out to you.
-Trump says something that he has no intention to do.
-Folks smile and go back to their sports/Netflix.
-Trump surrogates do the exact opposite of what he says.
-Democrats get cucked.
Every single time Trump says something “off-base” I see hundreds of these articles that say “TRUMP BETRAYAL,” etc, etc. And yet, every single time, I’ve yet to see Trump actually screw something up.
You get these professional pundits that are paid thousands of dollars, and yet, they still haven’t figured out Trump’s MO.
The little accomplishments slip through the cracks because everyone gets dragged through the mud by the media. Meanwhile, Trump is packing the lower courts with hardline constitutionalists.
Remember the DACA conversation with the Dems and press? Sounded like he was capitulating but look now – DACA is DOA!
Until Trump ACTUALLY ACTS on something that is unforgivable (gun regulations, breaking promises on immigration reform, etc) I will continue to be on the Trump Train. I know we are all used to politicians who stab us in the back, but have a little faith in the man.
The following are the insights and opinions of a former senior congressional staffer who is now enjoying what he calls the “…happy uncertainty of a self-imposed semi-retirement.” He spent nearly eleven years working on Capitol Hill, arriving there shortly before Barack Obama became president, and then leaving shortly after Donald Trump succeeded him. His extended family’s ties to prior administrations goes back decades – at the highest levels. Now approaching middle-age, (ancient by D.C. staffer standards) and despite all that time in the belly of the “D.C. beast” he still manages to look younger than his years. He’s quick to laugh, slow to anger, and enjoys the occasional (and most often inappropriate) joke while also being an occasional (and always highly valued) D.C. Whispers’ source. His contact list is an impressive whos-who of D.C. power players (a benefit of his political pedigree of which he readily admits he had nothing to do with) including both active and retired politicians, staffers, and (too many) lobbyists. (He feels most lobbyists are decent people working in what he calls an epically f*cked up system.) He has attended two inauguration balls, four Congressional retreats, (to which he says members of Congress drink – a lot) and seven State of the Union addresses.
