This story is still developing, and new facts are regularly coming in.
It was a computer program glitch that got discovered, so they counted Antrim County ballots by hand. As it turns out the program switched 6,000 Trump voters to Biden. So, subtract 6,000 from Biden and add 6,000 to Trump. But, that’s not the really good part. Forty-seven counties in Michigan used exactly the same program.
How did this happen? I hope it was accidental. But either way, the software company has a lot to answer for. Antrim County isn’t the only county affected. In Oakland County, a Republican official who thought he lost, won his reelection when a glitch was discovered there as well. All 47 other counties must do whatever necessary to recheck their counts.
Michigan Republican Party chairwoman Laura Cox said:
“If all this wasn’t enough, in Antrim County, ballots were counted for Democrats that were meant for Republicans, causing a 6,000-vote swing against our candidates.”
“The county clerk came forward and said, ‘tabulating software glitched and caused a miscalculation of the votes. Since then, we have now discovered that 47 counties use this same software in the same capacity.”
“Antrim County had to hand-count all of the ballots, and these counties that use this software need to closely examine their results for similar discrepancies.”
