Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia – Should we be Very Afraid

Isn’t it odd that the new name for Wuhan Coronavirus is ‘Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia’, when the virus itself is not pneumonia, and does not supposedly result in pneumonia most of the time?

The only reason I can figure out why they would change the name to that is to limit the number of cases and death rates they report to only those cases that result in pneumonia.

Common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.
