In a speech before the National Governors Association held in D.C. on February 8, 2020, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo advises that based on a report put out by think tank affiliated with Chinese Communist propaganda & influence peddling wing of the Chinese Communist Party, the Chinese are seeking to bypass their relationship with the federal government and instead seek to directly influence & corrupt the governors of the 50 states. He goes on to relay he is aware the CPC has found several [read: 17 governors] are considered friendly to the Chinese Communist Party’s goals.
