The President and First Lady’s trip to Saudi Arabia sparked countless headlines and engendered a plethora of articles. Bloggers noted the warm greeting that King Salman paid to the First Couple along with the fact that Melania and Ivanka Trump chose not to wear hijabs. Amidst all of the discussion and events, one cannot help but wonder: how to Saudi Arabia truly feel about women and those who do not believe in Islam? How are women treated in Saudi Arabia especially in comparison to other nations, such as the United States of America? Well, as the old saying goes, the devil is in the details.
Despite the kindness that Saudi leaders paid to the President and First Lady, the foreign nation is an enemy of mankind and should be regarded as such. For starters, Sharia Law was born and bred in Saudi Arabia. Under this despicable regime, honor killings, female genital mutilation, child brides, and beheadings are all permissible. The people of Saudi Arabia are complete bigots; they show absolutely zero tolerance to people who are not of the Islamic faith and quite literally behead people who dare to contrast with their group-thinking theologies.
Everyone who smiles in your face and shakes your hand is not an ally. Sharia Law to Saudi Arabia is what the Constitution is to America. The intolerance and execution of those with contrasting mindsets and viewpoints is bigotry by definition and should never be regarded as anything else. Saudi Arabia’s warm greetings to the President and First Lady were admirable, but it does not erase the abomination that they refer to as their culture.
