In the last month, their messaging has shifted from Reaganite issues like abortion, tax cuts for the rich, and privatizing Medicare to modern nationalist ones like shutting down the FBI, getting tough on crime and illegal immigration, and voting down the ridiculous new bill seeking to give Ukraine another $50 billion in weapons.
We all know by now that they will do precisely the opposite of everything they are promising when they get re-elected.
But the good news is that their cynical and desperate last minute electioneering in hopes of saving their midterm prospects (and it looks like it will work) shows that the people, at least on basic issues that matter, have great instincts.
