When people live divided, they are weak, vulnerable. If we are alone, we are scared, we are filled with fear, with our amygdala firing instead of our front brain which holds executive function, cause and effect, logical decision making.
They say a chord of three strands is not easily broken. People are strong when they are together.
Division = Weakness
Alone = Fear
Fear = Stress
We don’t need more reasons to be stressed out, overwhelmed, paralyzed by our emotions and information overload, feeling alone, feeling afraid. We don’t need any more reasons to allow the darkness of depression and loneliness to grow when we are alone. We need to be together.We desperately need to be together, especially when times get tough. But what are we doing today? We’re finding more and more ways to segregate ourselves and remain “other” rather than “together.”
Negative emotions are impeding our progress as a populace. We have no strength without someone to fill in the gaps between our own fingertips. Our grasp on the world and abilities to overcome changing trialing times benefits from having someone else’s hands clasped together with our own.
That’s a powerful bond, a bond we need as a race for biological existence. We can’t deny it, whether we like it or not… we cannot do this life alone. We have strength in community. We require community. We require interconnectedness for survival. I wonder what this world would look like if we decided to fight the good fight by serving with LOVE in a radical way.
Hate cannot drive out hate, only LOVE can do that.
