The mental health consequences of a self-inflicted economic shutdown & isolation

As I wrote on March 30, Knox County, Tennessee was seeing an increase in suspected suicides during coronavirus pandemic. Mayor Glenn Jacobs was shocked and it made him wonder if they were handling this the right way.

Again: Shutting down one’s livelihood and the economic machine that drives EVERYTHING for EVERYONE has consequences. A severe economic depression is about to hit this country due to governments shutting everything down to try and “save” all of us.

I wonder if the bureaucrats and “experts” factored in depression, domestic abuse and financial hardship into their “flatten the curve” models and mandates?
