Trouble Brewing In The Senate? Mitt Romney Calls Trump’s Behavior “Wrong And Appalling”

by Michael Snyder

Why is Mitt Romney publicly coming against President Trump?  In recent days, Mitt Romney has become the unofficial leader of the anti-Trump faction among Republicans in the U.S. Senate, and it appears that he may be attempting to rally enough votes to get Trump voted out of office once the impeachment process moves out of the House.  Does he actually believe that he is doing “the right thing”, or is there an underlying political motivation for his latest attack on the president?  The following comes from the Hill

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) on Friday broke sharply with President Trump’s call for China and Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, calling it “wrong and appalling.”

“When the only American citizen President Trump singles out for China’s investigation is his political opponent in the midst of the Democratic nomination process, it strains credulity to suggest that it is anything other than politically motivated,” Romney said in a statement, which he also tweeted out.

Romney has always hated Trump, and many are suggesting that he would love to get Trump out of the way so that he can make another run for the White House himself.

We shall see what happens, but without a doubt Mitt Romney is rapidly becoming one of the key players in this drama.
