WA Gov. Jay Inslee: You can’t leave home for groceries if you refuse COVID-19 test

by Dr. Eowyn

Washington State governor Jay Inslee is not only a rabid leftist (see “Washington Gov. Jay Inslee Signs Seven Anti Gun Bills in a Single Day“), he is also a despot whose inner tyrant was waiting for just the right crisis to burst out like the monster in Alien.

Like other “blue” Democrat-controlled states and cities, Inslee has moved the coronavirus goal post from “flatten the curve” — the justification for the COVID-19 lockdown — to ever-new rationalizations for continuing the lockdown that has already killed untold numbers of small businesses and rendered millions of Americans jobless. Mario Lotmore reports for the Lynwood Times that on May 12, 2020, Inslee conducted a press conference on his plans for a statewide contact tracing initiative that will require those who had been in contact with an individual tested positive for COVID-19 be quarantined — along with their families. Inslee said individuals and businesses that refuse to comply will be punished in civil or criminal court.

Then a reporter asked Inslee this question:

“When it comes to contact tracing, how are you guys going to handle people or families who want to refuse to test or to self isolateIf they want to leave their home to get groceries I know you’ve said they can’t do that; how will you make sure they don’t?“

Inslee replied:

“We will have attached to the families a family support person who will check in with them to see what they need on a daily basis… and help them. If they can’t get a friend to do their grocery shopping, we will help get them groceries in some fashion. If they need pharmaceuticals to be picked up, we will make sure they get their pharmaceuticals… That’s going to help encourage them to maintain their isolation too.”

In other words, according to Inslee, in the State of Washington, anyone who refuses to be tested for COVID-19 or cooperate with contact tracers by quarantining themselves and their families will not be allowed to leave their homes to purchase necessities such as groceries and/or prescription medicine. Instead, the refuseniks must have a friend or a state provided “family support personnel” purchase those essential items.
