Twitter has alienated many users and outright deplatformed multiple people with six and seven figure audiences. Since their strategy is clearly business suicide, Silicon Valley is hoping to eliminate its main competitor to keep the latter from continuing to absorb former Twitter users, thus eventually growing to a huge size.
