2020: Oprah Winfrey vs. Donald Trump?

By Gabrielle Seunagal
Recent news has indicated that Oprah Winfrey might be considering running for President in 2020. In a conversation with David Rubenstein, she smiled when asked if she would “break the glass ceiling” by getting elected for President. The show was actually taped back in December, but aired this morning, which explains the press it has received. Following Oprah’s remarks, people have speculated as to whether or not prior government experience is needed to campaign for office, given the victory of President Donald Trump. The political world is not a foreign arena to Oprah: In 2008, she campaigned for Barack Obama; eight years later, she supported Hillary Clinton, although with significantly less vigor.

Although I bear no will win towards Oprah, I sincerely hope that she never chooses to run for office. Oprah would patently run as a Democrat and promote their race baiting, pathological victim complex throughout her entire campaign. since she has publically supported liberals in the past. She has openly endorsed left wing dogma despite their countless flaws and shortcomings. Oprah’s crusade for office would surely be a farce where she slanders conservatives as racist, sexist, xenophobic, bigoted, etc. Liberal dogma has been propped up for a plethora of years, especially since the Presidency of Barack Obama. Enough is enough. Additionally, the odds of Oprah winning the general election would be slim to none. Donald Trump will definitely run for re-election in 2020 and after all of the progress that he will have made, his campaign will be solidified, engendering him to pick up additional support that he lacked in 2016.
Incidentally, if Oprah does decide to run for President, the Democrats will mostly likely pick her as their nominee. If you study the nomination patterns of the Left, you’ll observe their intriguing pattern of selecting the candidate that is most dissimilar to straight white males. For instance, in 2007, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were the two most viable picks for the Democratic nomination. Obama’s biracial status is what caused the party to choose him over Hillary Clinton, a white woman. By the same token, when Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton competed for the Democratic nomination in 2015, Hillary was the winner, due to her gender. Sanders, as a white male, stood no chance. The foundation of the Democrat Party is that all persons who are not white males are inherently oppressed. Naturally, the Left seeks to “right” the perceived “wrong,” hence their chosen representatives. Unless a gay Muslim runs in 2020, Oprah has a pretty solid chance of winning the Democratic nomination, should she choose to pursue it.
