This will make Democrats’ heads explode.
Although a Morning Consult/Politico poll reported only 18% of Black registered voters approved of President Trump’s performance, two recent polls, however, both show that at least 34% of Black voters approve of President Trump:
- A November 17-20 Emerson poll of 1,092 registered voters has Black approval of Trump at 34.5%.
- Rasmussen prefers to poll likely voters because not all registered voters actually vote. According to a Rasmussen Poll last Friday, November 22, 2019, 34% of Black likely voters approve of Trump.
According to Breitbart, the increase in Black approval led to the Trump campaign’s decision to launch a “Black Voices for Trump” political coalition. In a November 8 speech launching the coalition before Black supporters in Atlanta, Georgia, President Trump said: “We’re going to campaign for every last African American vote in 2020.” Among the Black supporters were HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson, newly elected Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, Pastor Darrell Scott, “Diamond and Silk,” and Harrison Floyd.
Citing Trump’s history of standing up for black Americans, Dr. Carson dismissed Trump’s critics who calls him a racist. Carson He reminded the crowd that Jesse Jackson awarded Trump for his contributions to the black community and opening up his club at Mar-a-Lago to Jews and blacks, and that Trump dramatically increased funding for historically black colleges and created tax-free opportunity zones for struggling urban communities. Carson quipped: “Let me tell you something: if he’s a racist, he’s an awfully bad one. He needs to get a lesson from the real racists.”
Trump said Democrats had taken the black vote for granted and urged Blacks to wake up to “the Democrat party’s record of suffering and neglect.” He pointed out that 58% of murder victims under 22 are black, but Democrats have failed to reduce crime, opened up the Southern borders to crime and drugs, and that the 20 most dangerous cities are run by Democrats.
Trump asked the crowd: “What do you prefer: Blacks for Trump or African-Americans for Trump?”. The group roared back: “Blacks for Trump … Blacks for Trump … Blacks for Trump …Blacks for Trump … Blacks for Trump … Blacks for Trump … Blacks for Trump!”
Recall that in the 2008 presidential election, 96% of African-Americans voted for Obama. But during his presidency, the jobless rate of Blacks reached the highest level since 1984, at 16.7% in August 2011. Black men had it the worst, with joblessness at a staggeringly high 19.1%, compared to 14.5% for Black women. (See “Blacks’ Jobless Rate is Highest in 27 Yrs“)
Under the Trump administration, however, Black unemployment tumbled to a record low of 5.5% in August 2019, according to Department of Labor statistics.
Rob Smith, a black, openly gay, Iraq War veteran, and conservative Republican, wrote at Fox News: “Black unemployment is at a historic low. In Detroit, for example, the unemployment rate is so low that employers are taking a softer stance towards hiring ex-convicts than they had in the past. I think Democrats use identity politics to keep people in line.” Smith said he wishes the Democratic Party — which claims to be the champions of minorities — would spent as much time helping the black community as they do attacking Trump. In 2016, Trump got 8% (or 1.2 million) Black votes. Imagine what 2020 would be, if 34% of Blacks vote for Trump . . . .
