35% of “entry-level” jobs on LinkedIn require 3+ years of experience

Methodology: Text matching was used to identify years of experience, as required, for more than 3.8 million paid job postings on LinkedIn from December 2017 to August 2021. The “entry level” classification was the seniority level inputted by the job poster. Industry segments reflect the industry of the company posting the job.
